Some doors open outward.
This one opens in.The Inner Path is the foundational sitting practice of Taoist Qigong — a quiet, grounded introduction to the art of cultivating Qi through stillness, breath, and awareness. Not fitness. Not performance. A return to the body’s natural state of harmony.
What this is.
The Inner Path is a complete foundational course in Taoist Qigong, guided personally by J.Li. It is a sitting practice — the most essential form of Taoist energy cultivation, and the gateway to deeper inner work.
In the Taoist tradition, this is the first stage of Neidan — the inner alchemy. Before any advanced practice begins, the foundation must be laid. The body’s central energy channels must be opened. The mind must learn to settle. Awareness must grow. This course is that foundation.
No experience is needed. Only presence.
Not all Qigong is the same.
What is widely taught today as Qigong — gentle stretching, breathing exercises, flowing movements — is often a simplified version, adapted for health and relaxation. This course is something else.
What J.Li teaches comes from the orthodox Taoist lineage — the inner tradition of Dan Dao, or inner alchemy. This is not exercise. It is the foundational stage of energy cultivation as practiced by Taoist adepts for centuries: still, deep, and transformative.
The goal is not to learn a set of movements. It is to open the body’s central energy channels, settle the mind into stillness, and build the internal foundation — known in the tradition as Zhuji, the stage of establishing the base — upon which all deeper practice depends.
The Four Parts
Part I — The Awareness Chapter : Re-understanding Your Body and Energy
The meridian system. The Dan Tian. Prenatal and postnatal energy. This is the map of your inner landscape — the channels through which Qi flows, the centers where it gathers, and the two sources of vital energy that shape your life. Before practice begins, you must first know the terrain.
Part 2 — Preparation: Building the Safety Rails for Energy Training
Body and mind must be prepared. Principles and precautions must be understood. The core sitting posture must be established — not as a rigid form, but as a living alignment. This is the safety rail for your practice. With the ground prepared, the real work can begin.
Part 3 — Practice: Three Steps to Awaken Your Inner Potential
Three steps, each building on the last. First, the art of breathing — the foundation of all energy cultivation. Second, sinking Qi into the Dan Tian — gathering and anchoring your vital energy. Third, gathering the mind into stillness and opening the Ren and Du meridians — the body’s central energy circuit. When these two channels connect, Qi completes its full circulation.
Part 4 — Integration & Inner Wisdom: Bringing Higher Energy into Daily Life
As Qi moves freely, new sensations arise — warmth, tingling, a sense of expansion. The tradition calls these the Eight Touches. J.Li explains how to understand them, and where to rest your awareness as they appear. This is the bridge between the sitting cushion and the rest of your life.
Where this course stands in the Taoist tradition.
This is not a casual introduction. It is the first stage of Dan Dao cultivation — what is known in the Taoist tradition as Zhuji, the foundation-building phase of inner alchemy. Before the elixir can be refined, the vessel must be prepared. Before the spirit can rise, the body’s channels must be clear. This course prepares the vessel.
How you’ll learn.

On Taoist Terminology
Taoist inner alchemy carries its own language — terms handed down through centuries of practice. Some are unfamiliar, even in Chinese. In this course, J.Li speaks as he does in his daily practice notes: with clarity, not complexity. Where traditional terms are needed, they are introduced gently and explained in words you can feel, not just understand.
You do not need to learn a new vocabulary. You only need to be present.
Written Transcripts
Every lesson comes with a full written version, accessible on our website — not as a separate download with an expiration date, but as a permanent companion to your practice.
Read before you watch. Return to a passage that moved you. Search for a phrase you half-remember. The words are yours to keep, for as long as you need them.

FAQ
Do I need any prior experience?
No. This course is designed for complete beginners. If you can sit and breathe, you can begin. The four parts guide you step by step, from understanding your body’s energy system to integrating the practice into daily life.
Is this the same as the Qigong I see in parks or fitness studios?
No. What is commonly taught as Qigong today is often a simplified form, focused on gentle movement and relaxation. This course comes from the orthodox Taoist tradition of internal cultivation. It is a sitting practice — still, deep, and rooted in the inner alchemy lineage.
What does “opening the Ren and Du meridians” mean?
These are the body’s two central energy channels. The Ren meridian runs along the front, governing Yin. The Du meridian runs along the back, governing Yang. When they connect through practice, Qi completes a full circuit. This is not a myth — it is a felt experience that unfolds gradually.
What if I don’t feel anything at first?
That is normal. Energy cultivation is subtle. Some feel warmth or tingling early on. Others notice changes only after weeks of consistent practice. The course is designed to meet you where you are — no comparison, no pressure.
How long do I have access to the course?
180 days from purchase. You can move through the four parts at your own pace, revisit any lesson, and practice as often as you wish within that period. The written transcripts are yours to keep with lifetime access.
What if I have questions during the course?
Write to us. J.Li reads every message personally and will guide you with patience. You are not practicing alone.
Is this course safe?
Yes, for most people. The practice is gentle and seated. However, it is not suitable if you are pregnant, have severe heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, a serious mental health condition, epilepsy, severe liver or kidney disease, or an active cancer diagnosis. If you have any known health conditions, please consult your doctor before beginning.
