Worn beneath. Worn alone.
A single layer of white, cut in the traditional Taoist form. It is the quiet companion to the practice set — worn beneath the short robe, or on its own when the day calls for something lighter.
This is not a garment that asks for attention. It is cloth, woven with the subtle irregularity of bamboo, made to rest against the skin and disappear into stillness.
Design & Tradition
The inner layer follows the traditional cross-collar form, tied at the side with simple fabric ties. The cut is loose and unisex — designed to sit easily on different bodies, without clinging or constraining.
It is made to be worn in layers, beneath the short robe, or alone during sitting practice, quiet mornings, or slow movement outdoors.

Woven with a bamboo-effect textured yarn, this fabric carries the quiet irregularity of natural bamboo — a subtle rhythm in the weave that catches light only when you look closely.

A Note Before You Wear It
This is a garment for practice and daily wear. It is not a religious vestment, and it carries no promises beyond the quiet comfort of cloth well made.
The fabric is thin and slightly sheer by design — made for layering, for warm days, and for the quiet transparency of a simple white garment.
Not a statement. Not a costume.
A single layer of white —
for the skin that practices,
and for the days in between.

FAQ
Is this a standalone garment or an inner layer?
Both. It is designed to be worn beneath the Taoist Practice Set, but it can also be worn on its own for sitting meditation, home rest, or outdoor practice in warm weather.
Is it see-through?
The fabric is thin and slightly sheer by design. It is made for layering and for warm climates, and the sheerness is part of its quiet character.
Is the fabric supposed to have an uneven texture?
Yes. The bamboo-effect yarn is intentionally uneven — a characteristic of the weave that gives the fabric its natural, handmade feel. It is not a defect.
How do I choose my size?
Please refer to the size chart. Measurements are taken by hand with the garment laid flat. Allow 2–3 cm variance. If you are between sizes or unsure, write to us — we are happy to help.
Can I wear this alone outside?
Yes. It is made for both indoor and outdoor use. For cooler days, wear it as a layer beneath the short robe.
Is this unisex?
Yes. The cut is loose and unisex, designed to sit comfortably on different bodies.
Does this page include the robe and trousers?
No. This page is for the white inner layer only. The short robe and trousers set is available separately on its own product page.
Is this suitable as a gift?
Yes. For anyone who practices meditation or Qigong, or simply values quiet, comfortable clothing for home and practice, this is a thoughtful and practical gift.
